About

Serene by Ian PriceThank your for visiting the website. This page will tell you more about who we are, what we do, and provide a stepping stone to the portfolio and services sections.

The name behind the site is Ian Price, a keen photographer who heralds from North Wales, and still resides in the area which provides so many perfect photographic scenes on the doorstep.

Ian graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University, West Yorkshire, with a First Class Honours degree in Computer Science, and since then has been employed as a Software Engineer, but at the same time have found time to further his interest in photography.

However, Ian Price Photographic is not run by Ian alone, he is benefited greatly by the support of his fiancée Emma.

Whether it be support in the form of critiquing shots, processing orders, dealing with advertising or suggesting subjects for photographs, Emma is always on hand as half of the business.

As a business we offer a variety of services which range from simply purchasing prints from this website, to portrait work and fully tailored commercial assignments.

The online portfolio only displays a small amount of our work, many thousands of items are available in addition to those in the online portfolio. If you require any specific subject(s), please contact us with requirements and we will search our full collection for you.

Opinions on Photography
Generally Ian prefers no particular subject, and instead tends to appreciate whatever he sees, whenever he sees it. This means that the range of subjects featuring in Ian's shots are very varied.

Ian desires perfection "in-camera" with his work, yet on occasion it is not possible. In the modern era of photography, there is a digital version of the traditional darkroom. Some use digital editing to an extreme, but Ian's use is minimal, and generally in-line with what would have been archived in the darkroom.

In some very specific scenarios, more in-depth editing is carried out, but only when a very specific end result is desired.

Charities
We are both in full support of charitable causes, and we welcome requests from charities to use our work for publicity purposes.

Throughout life everyone encounters charity in some form or another, and many life experiences relate to charities of some sort. Ian and Emma have a number of charities which are close to their hearts, and in no particular order they are:

  • Nystagmus Network
  • British Heart Foundation
  • Cancer Research
  • Hospice of the Good Shepherd
  • The Stroke Association
  • Royal National Lifeboat Institution

Please contact us to discuss any requirements you may have.

To conclude the About section, we have collected a number of quotes which relate to photography, and relate to our way of thinking.
